True Silver Pheasants (Lophura Nycthemera Nycthemera)

From recent Landig import (Clarence Birr), and Chulos lines.

Large, mostly Black and White Pheasant from the forests of China, Thailand, Vietnam, Laos, and Cambodia.  We raise the (true) nominate race of Silvers.  There are at least 15 sub-species recognized.

There are many Silvers in captivity but again it is difficult to find birds that can be compared favorably to the standards set long ago by describing wild caught birds.  Silvers will become very tame if you spend some time with them.  Sometimes the males will become very pugnacious towards their human keepers.

The male will perform lots of nice calls and displays.  Wing whirring, etc..
